To sum it up in one word, HUGE! If you are looking for the best Steaks in the Dells then look no further. The cuts are top quality, and cooked to perfection. Come hungry, the portions are out of control. The steaks are gigantic, the sides are huge. We had the mashed potatoes and the single side is over 3lbs. The entrees include a side salad, prepared fresh table side. Take that into account when selecting sides and appetizers. As we quickly found out we way over ordered, and ended up take back to the hotel massive left overs.

Wow. This place is phoenominal! VERY expensive, but well worth it. Presentation, taste, service was A+++. They were out of the prime rib so my husband got the shrimp cocktail, it was served over dry ice. Very cool!

Be prepared to pay big bucks. Big, big, bucks! And get big, big, big portions. This was one of the best meals I've ever eaten. Everything that I and my friends tried was... perfect! And for the price we paid, it had better be perfect. One of us had surf & turf with bone-in ribeye steak, I had the daily special, a grouper with a white sauce, and between 3 of us we shared Calamari, mushrooms, and the loaded mashed potatoes. The serving of potatoes could have fed a table of 8! I ate them for breakfast the next morning, they were so good! The waitstaff are truly expert. This restaurant is everything you could hope for. I'll go back if I can ever afford it again.

I consider myself less of an American since I'm not a big fan of steaks, but everyone else in my group is, and the majority rules. Let me say this, they don't mess around here, all the pieces of meat are rolled out on their carts for viewing and/or drooling purposes so you know what you're getting before you order. It was a nice touch even though I didn't partake in any of the steaks. The garbage salad preparation at the table was incredible, each salad looked absolutely perfect no matter what was in it. The mountain of mashed potatos stood tall even after 3 helpings per person, but it's 3 pounds so I doubt many groups of 4 end up finishing the whole thing. I opted for the tortellini alfredo & it was some of the best pasta I ever had, from a chop house no less! The old saying is true, you get what you pay for, and at Kaminski, it doesn't get much better

Hidden in the icy reaches of far off central Wisconsin - this may be the best steak house I have EVER eaten at! My wife, daughter, and I, stumbled upon this place quite by accident in the dead of winter. It had exactly the homey, old world, old wood and moose-head over the fireplace feel that we needed to feel safe from the ten foot snowbanks outside. But we never expected what we got. First off - Kaminski Brother's uses only dry aged meat. Most top shelf steak places like Morton's and Ruth Chris', uses wet aged beef. The difference is simple. Wet aged steaks are stored fresh in vacuum sealed packs and allowed to sit in a cool place until the molecules begin to turn and the process of decomposition starts to occur. This tenderizes and cures the meat, giving it a smokey, slightly buttery and nutty flavor. I will take wet aged meat over fresh meat any day of the week. However - we mere mortals have no access to aged beef. This is handled in back room deals by top meat brokers only to top restaurants. So the beef we get at the supermarket is only half way there. But Dry Aged beef is a whole different story. For that one needs a huge cooler - and lots of hooks. The steaks are prepped and hung, often for a long long time. Eventually certain chemical processes occur, which ripen the meat and begin the process of decomposition. This creates far more flavor and tenderness than during the wet aged process. When it comes time to serve the meat the entire huge chunk is nothing but black and green moldy crust. Then, the expert butcher at the restaurant cuts away the rotted outside, revealing a bright red center of aged to perfection steak. That is what they cook. Half of the steak ends up in the garbage. But that is what makes the rest of the steak SOOOO good. Kaminski Brother's offers one more absolutely amazing and rare thing - a bone-in dry-aged filet mignon. I had never even heard of that before (and I have been eating aged steaks for years). Filets are usually so tender already - that no one ever ages them. And they certainly do not serve them bone-in (which gives any steak a lot more flavor). But at Kaminski's, a handful of the filets were dry-aged, so I got it. That piece of meat was the single most delicious and tender steak I have ever had. Other things at Kaminski's are good too - big baked potatoes, great shrimp cocktail, King Crab Legs on the side, delicious spinach, and amazing breads and salads. But - my God - the Steak.... this is the meal I want in heaven... the meal I could eat forever.

This is a unique place. Our waitress was very friendly. Some would enjoy how attentive the staff was. Keeping our drinks filled and taking things as soon as we were done with them. We didn't so much like it. It was too much. One guy tried to take our son's plate while he was still eating. The polite thing would have been to ask if there was anything he could take, not just grab stuff. They also didn't get our steak cooked right. Something you don't expect to deal with at a place like this. We liked the overall uniqueness. Not your everyday restaurant experience. Our server brought out actual meat cuts to show us and explained their aging process. You don't really order an individual meal for each person here. Our family of four shared the bone-in ribeye, an order of mashed potatoes and broccoli. We finished the meat but only ate a small portion of the potatoes, and only one head of broccoli (out of three, I think). The salad was amazing and the table bread was great too. We also had cheesecake. I think it was almost half the entire cheesecake. Soooo much food!! *Tip* Although there may not be an actual dress code for this place, it is a very nice place. Something more than flip flops is appropriate.

My husband and I decided to take one night out for ourselves while we came to the Dells for vacation with our three kids. We searched for a place with great food and a nice, quiet atmosphere. We called ahead for a reservation, which was not a problem. When we arrived, the restaurant was a little bit hard to find because you have to go up the elevator to the top floor. The menu was strange to me because you could not order a table enhancer without an entree. For example, my husband just wanted a lobster tail with a couple of sides for his meal, however, he would have needed to order an entree also because only the one pound lobster tail was available as an entree, nothing smaller. I am a vegetarian, otherwise I would have helped him eat it. I ended up with the table-side salad, mashed potatoes and asparagus. He had the 8 oz fillet, table salad and shared my sides. He said that his fillet was cooked to perfection and we both said that we could eat the salad every, single day and never get sick of it. The service was GREAT, fast, peaceful and perfect! My husband was really disappointed in the fact that he didn't get the lobster since that's why we chose the restaurant. If not for this fact, I would have rated 5 stars. We will go back when/if we return to the Dell's!

I was there last month but first some reason my review did not go through. I'd like to start first by saying that this place has a great reputation however my experience here was nothing but horrendous I love dining at trendy and fancy places and this place is nothing as described I give the food at 3 stars the staff 1 star and the drinks five star. They were just being rude also there was a fly in my drink and when I asked the waiter to replace it he did so and the next class that he brought me the flight was on the bottom and it was dead great service I guess. This place is low standards stay away

I had dinner with my family last night and had the worst experience ever for being an upscale classy restaurant. We had asked the waitress if they could cut the porterhouse in half since I was going to share it with my significant other but the waitress told us it was going to be an extra charge just to cut it in half before bringing it out. Keep in mind we also ordered the lobster tail, so we weren't trying to be cheap just wanted to try both. I will never be back.

My family loves going to the chop house. The steaks are wonderful and sides are served family style. If staying at Chula they are great for coffee drinks before bed. Try the Keoke!

What a fun night! For an appetizer we shared the jumbo shrimp cocktail - they are huge! For my entree, I ordered the Petite Steak Oscar style medium. I loved it. The lump crab and accompanying sauce was spot on! I didn't think I was going to be able to finish it all, but I did - haha! The sides are massive and are made to be share between several people. This is probably the best steak house in Wisconsin Dells. If you are staying at the Chula Vista Resort and would like to have a nice dinner, this is the spot! While you can bring children, this is definitely more of an adult place to dine. The restaurant has big glass windows which creates a nice view of the sun setting behind nearby pines.

Bring from Chicago, I have been to dozens of steakhouses, but none of them were as pleasant as KBCH. Our waiter welcomed us and took care of us the entire time. He was great with checking up on is, making suggestions and made us the best salad I ever had. I can't wait to come back here in the summer. Oh yeah, the steaks were amazing.

Wife and I had dinner here on 6/14/14. Hostess Katie sat us at a table by the window and took time to make conversation, making us feel very welcome. Our server Sara was excellent. In addition there were other servers constantly monitoring our table and our water glasses never got below 1/3 empty. They use carts for everything. First to show you their various cuts of meat, then to make the "garbage" salad table side. Why they call it that I have no idea, but they customize each individual persons' salad based upon added ingredients desired. Then they wheel your food out as well. We did not order an appetizer as their slogan is "Size does Matter". For drinks we ordered the 3 half glass wine sampler, where we had our choice of about 10 different wines. We started with the salads and shared a perfectly cooked 24 oz. Porterhouse. Very tasty. There is a $10 sharing charge, but that does include a salad for the person. Bread also accompanies. We ordered onion rings to top our steak. They were okay - crisp and not greasy. Their sides are portioned to be "table sized". Thus we opted for the two sides for $20. We had the spinach gratin with portobellos and the mashed potatoes. Mashers had melted cheddar on top along with sour cream and chunks of apple smoked bacon. Each of these "smaller" sides surely would have satisfied 4 people. Service and food was excellent. Our check with tax but without tip was $98. We thought it was very reasonably priced for what we received. We traveled (from Florida) as part the Hot Rod Power Tour's 20th Anniversary which started in Charlotte and with 7 cities in 7 days ended at the Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells. The trip next year will most likely start exactly where it left off and we will be sure to dine here again when we kick off next year's Power Tour.

Service was as expected for a restaurant of this sort. Food, not. Garbage salad is fun (prepared tableside). Entrees were overcooked, one inedible meal was sent back. Mashed potatoes are simply not very tasty: a giant vat of plain, dry, unseasoned spuds (peeled, so no color/texture interest, even) with dollops of sour cream, cheese, scallions and bacon. I make better at home without trying. Dessert was a big piece of a commercially manufactured frozen product. I'm not sure why people think that bigger portions of mediocre food are somehow better than smaller, but that seems to be the draw here.

I wanted to like this place but really didn't live up to the hype for me. For the price I paid it did not live up to similar high end steak houses that I have been to for about the same price range. Service was excellent, friendly staff that gives prompt service. They did a great job of engaging us in causal talk. Nice to talk to real people enjoying their job. Table side salad was great, they do a wonderful job on making the salad your way with quality ingredients. The side dishes are ridiculously big and out of portion for 1-2 people, I get that you like giving huge portions, but when I was in college and broke never did I take a tray of spinach & mushroom gratin and mashed potatoes back to my dorm when it was free, so not really too hyped about over paying for a 2 for $20 for mediocre side dishes portioned out for 10 people. I get it that its a gimmick, but when 2 people go there its a little much. The steaks are prime cut that is dry aged. The one i got was a little nutty on half the portion which can happen due to the process, the other half was better though. The flavor for me was not there for being a prime cut, dry aged steak. I can excuse the nutty since it is dry aged and stuff happens, but the seasoning and preparation wasn't there. Great cuts of steak, but the flavor needs to be a little better if you are charging a high price. Cheesecake was pretty good, had a nice rich flavor and priced about right for the large portion size, you can share this with a few people if needed. So the atmosphere is touristy so you are going to get people with lots of kids and perhaps in resort apparel. This is a "high end" place but I don't think it lived up to that billing. Its a little gimmicky to impress tourists, and sometimes tourists are too easily impressed.......

From the presentation of the meats prior to our meals, to the preparation of our salads right at the table, to the96oz double porterhouse aged to perfection then sliced for us....this place is to notch. Want to impress someone or even propose, it's a show stopper highly classy but you can wear what you want as it is on a resort. Everything is large in portion, as it's meant to be shared

We went here for a special day after Christmas dinner. It was fantastic! While on the pricey side it was worth it! Service was attentive without being overbearing. Steaks were great cuts at prepared exactly as ordered. Mashed potatoes were crazy good- but weighing in at 5 pounds- go with a group or go home with a side. We would go back again when in the area. Very high quality.

Tableside Garbage Salad was very good. Potsticker appetizer has no business being on menu here. Plus it was fried instead of seared?? Pork Chop was juicy. Great portion. But Bland. Side Portions are ridiculously big. Baked Potato was quality. Spiced Creamed Corn was good but too cheesey and came a bit lukewarm. Nice setting and ambiance. Warm professional service. For the DELLS, very good. If you are staying in CHULA, and have your mind set on a pricey steak dinner, this is your spot as there isnt a steakhouse in town worth driving too.

If someone offers you their parking spot, take it. Parking is a b!=€¥ Table side salad is a nice touch. The service was stellar though the steaks were flavorless and tough. Disappointing, especially since this place puts quite a dent in your pocketbook. We'll stick to the steakhouses in Chicago and Japan. This was not worth the sticker shock people will have to suffer through.

Upscale atmosphere and pricey. Ordered the dinner for two special for $69 which was options of: soup or house salad for each, choice of entree each (5 or 6 to choose from), choice of one side to share and choice of dessert to share. I had the catch of the day which was a grilled swordfish with a pineapple salsa. Fish was tasty, meaty but dry which I was thankful for the pineapple salsa. My friend had the filet mignon with mushrooms & onions- very flavorful & tender! Side dish of asparagus with hollandaise sauce was surprisingly tender. Dessert was a huge piece of tiramisu. Wonderful ending! Staff was friendly & knowledgeable. Enjoyed the experience and would recommend for a special celebration.

This was a great place to eat. I will be the first to admit that we had a huge discount and a gift certificate, so the pain of the bill was not felt on us, but it would have been worth it at full price. The seating booths are very nice, and the staff are very professional. I will note that the dell's seems to employ a large percentage of young foreigners, who speak English as a second language. That being said, our waitress was somewhat difficult to understand, though she was courteous and did a good job. They begin by bring out wrapped uncooked versions of your entree. This includes a filet, petite filet, bone in filet(what I ordered), bone in Ribeye, Kansas strip, porterhouse, and various seafood dishes. Needless to say, both my wife and I ordered the filet, with her ordering the petite. They then bring out the "Garbage salad" which they make at your table and is quite awesome. Their wine list is great as well. The steaks are al a carte, but the sides are giant size, and we only ordered one for both of us and our son. Both our steaks arrived cooked perfectly and were some of the best tasting steaks we have ever had. I included pictures and my steak had the blue cheese crumbs cooked on it. The other great steaks I have had have been at Manny's in the Twin Cities(who apparently helped with the design and concept of this steakhouse) and Rosebud steak house in Chicago. This steak was as good if not better than either of those. We were too full to partake of desert, but I saw several of them and the looked great, but were enough to feed an entire party. Overall, with an appetizer (Carpaccio, good, but not the best I have had) and a glass of wine, our bill was about $130. Very good steak house, would suggest it to anyone.

While on a golf weekend with a couple of friends we decided to try Kaminski Brothers Chop House after a long day of golf. We were staying at the Chula Vista Resort and since it is right on the resort grounds we didn't have too far to go! We went on a Saturday night around 6:00 p.m. without reservations but we were seated right away (probably because it was off season). The menu was a simple one page collection of appetizers, steaks, entrees and sides. We decided to start with the calamari for our appetizer. It came mixed with peppers and had a sauce on the side. It was great, but as we soon came to find out, it may have been too much for us! Each entree comes with their Garbage Salad. It was a weird name for such a great salad! The waiter brings out a cart with a bowl of pre-mixed field greens, eight bowls of other items that can be mixed in such as red onions, eggs, bacon, baby shrimp, tomatoes and three others (sorry, cannot remember what they were!) and a creamy caesar dressing. It was delicious! This course comes served with their bread, which was o.k. We ordered a side of mashed potatoes to be served with our entree. All of the sides are served family style. The mashed potatoes were very good, but it was enough for more than 10 people (there were only three of us!). I had the scallops wrapped in bacon and my friends had filet mignon and the petite filet. It was all excellent tasing! Be prepared to spend quite a bit of money especially if you order beer or wine. While I would not have this on a regular basis, for a one time meal Kaminski Brothers Chop House is an excellent choice especially if you like beef!

After three long days of waterparks and family-friendly dining with our three kids, we were eagerly anticipating an adult-only evening at our resort's upscale restaurant. Going into it, I knew it would likely be pricey which would deter any restless families with small children and that alone was cause for celebration. I also figured that the steaks would be decent but coming from Chicago where I've enjoyed many a fine evening dining on excellent steak, I didn't really expect Chula Vista to be hiding one of the best chop houses in the Midwest. We kicked off our meal with their Crab & Shrimp Cakes. They were mouthwatering and amazingly seasoned. They could have held their own as an entree and received a glowing five star review. This appetizer reaffirmed my genuine love of crab cakes. For the main event, I ordered the Petite Filet Mignon. After having walked through the restaurant to our seats, I knew the steak portions were large so I decided to err on the side of caution and go small so I could order some sides. The menu indicated the sides were intended to share so we selected the potatoes and asparagus. My mouth was watering just ordering it and I couldn't wait for our order to arrive. However, our waiter then came back to our table pushing a cart full of fresh ingredients. He then explained our meal came with their signature garbage salad, made to order, right in front of our eyes. After making our selections and watching the magic unfold, I was left with one of the most amazingly delicious (and large!) salads I've ever had. Too amazing, actually. I couldn't stop eating and realized by the end, I had left little to no room for my entree!!! When our steaks arrived, I felt a little defeated. Then, I took a look at our sides. O. M. F. G. Seriously. I posted a photo to show you the size of our mountain of potatoes. It was epic and I'm sad to report we only had a good two scoops out of it before we had them doggie-bag it. The asparagus was easily a half inch wide in diameter and nine inches long. The serving was about the volume of a football. And the gravy boat full of Hollandaise could fill a large jar. But having said all that, size doesn't really matter (wink wink) unless the quality is outstanding. And let me tell you that each delicious bite was as if it was delivered from heaven. My steak was amazing, the potatoes so rich and creamy, and the asparagus with hollandaise was freshly divine. The only problem was that after only a few sinful bites, I was incredibly full. I even took a break in an attempt to catch a second wind but failed miserably. We ended up taking two huge bags back to the hotel room and didn't even bother considering dessert. The meal was amazing. And should we return to the Dells, we will come fully prepared with big appetites and potentially more diners at our table to share with!

Horrible Sevice! Food is mediocre at best but way too pricey! Freshly table side assembled salad is good; blue cheese was delicious! What is up with the rickety wooden floors? The rolling food carts on those floors really ruins the experience!

I hate to say it, but Kaminski's did not live up to the hype for my husband and I. We visited there tonight to celebrate our 1-year anniversary with the hopes of a nice steak dinner; however, the best thing about our night was the service provided by our server, Oana and our bottle of wine. We drove from the West suburbs of Chicago for an exciting Dells weekend and read all the reviews for the best rated restaurants in the Dells and both came across Kaminski's. We did not order an appetizer, since we knew the garbage salad was coming. The salad was okay but definitely was not "amazing". There was nothing that stood out about it aside from it being prepared table side. We ordered a bottle if the Sawbuck Malbec, and it was actually very good and smooth. My husband ordered a special for the night- the 8 oz. filet with an 8 oz. lobster tail. I ordered the 8 oz. petite filet with the Parmesan crust. Both of our steaks were cooked well, although my husband had just a bit of gristle. I was very happy to see that after reading all the reviews of the side dishes being absolutely gigantic, they had a new option to the menu where you can do "Sides for 2" and order two of the sides for $20 portioned for two people. Still, the portions were slightly large, however, not the size of others we had seen. We got the asparagus and mushroom risotto. The asparagus was steamed well and had a great hollandaise sauce. The risotto tasted like a half cooked piece of rice with no flavor. Very sad because I'm a huge risotto fan. Ambiance... When I go to a chop house with $$$$, I expect a certain atmosphere/environment/experience. I will note that our dinner reservations were at 6:30pm (reservations weren't even needed at that time) and there was about 1/4 of the tables with guests, several children and 99% of the guests wearing sandals, beach t-shirts, and jeans. After reading "dressy" on their listing, my husband and I were decked out in a dress/button-up shirt and tie. We were definitely out of place. Our server, Oana; however, was attentive. She paid attention to is stating it was our anniversary upon meeting us and surprised us with a delightful dessert almost the size of our wedding cake. This was a huge brownie slice with ice cream, chocolate hot fudge and caramel. ...amazing! We also very much enjoyed a cute little man walking around playing the violin. All-in-all, this may be one of the nicer restaurants in the Dells, but it definitely was NOT worth the $165 bill (without tip) for two people with the expectation of something "else".

All I can say about Kaminski Brothers is WOW! I have eaten at some great restaurants in my life and this one is in the top 5. The bone in rib-eye was aged 14 days and you could tell with every bite. The salad they call the garbage salad and I will tell you, it may be the best salad you will ever eat. The loaded mashed potatoes are a must have but you better be hungry! They pile on the fix ins with cheese, sour cream, chives and of course, thick chunks of Bacon. You will learn that I love Bacon and these guys got it right. I went with 2 other guys and we took a ton of food with us when we left. I would suggest going with a group of 6. You will need that many to share the sides you get with your main dish. I will be sure to visit this place every time I visit the Dells. Thanks Kaminski Brothers!
